Color of Fate; Sour Honey
MIYOBA
I
sat by the balcony drinking my wine & smoking my cigarette at the other
hand. I looked at the view as I sipped on my wine. Sometimes I wonder how I
turned into the person I have become. I wasn't born like this. I was never like
this. I also had a dream, like any other person & my dream was to be the
best Author out there. As always that was too dull, it was way too common for
my father, it wasn't a career. He burnt all the short books I wrote in high
school, brainwashed me, and made me have the mindset I have today. From when I
was 4years old to when I was 10 Years old, dad made me stay with his sister, Ntombizani.
Aunt Ntombizani was the devils daughter in flesh, no day passed without her
telling me how much of a failure I was, how I will never make it out there
because I'm a lost soul. She kept telling on & on how I don’t belong with
them, how much of a curse I am. It got to a point where I became immune to the
insults, where I just took them & buried them deep where nobody would ever
find them. When I was 10 that's when mom came to take me. All along they were
staying with Tits, I used to hate her. I still do, because no matter how much
she messed up she never got punished like how I would get punished when I
messed up. I blinked away my tears, being me, being the Miyo I am today is what
kept me going, it’s what kept me alive. I quickly wiped the tear that had
dropped as I heard the intercom. I walked back inside the house holding my
glass, at such moments, Rio would be great company, I threw the remaining
cigarette in the ash tray. I opened the door & some dude was standing by my
door step. He was some fine nigga no lie.
Me:
Evening
Him:
Hey
Me:
how can I help you?
Him:
ummmh I'm looking for MIYOBA
Me:

He
looked at me, more carefully this time around.
Him:
Gracious God!
He
mumbled.
Me:
how can I help you?
Him:

I
laughed.
Me:

Him:

Me:

Him:

Me:

Him:

Me:

He
looked at me again.
Him:

Me:

Him:
I just wanted to see the person I'm married to.
Me:
married is a big word.
Him:

Me:

I
said closing the door. I was sure by now Mr. Sikanyika had looked at the
pictures. I was sure about the shares & now there was nothing stopping me
from leading Friendly Fashions.
